Christmas Cocktail Recipes 2016

Christmas is around the corner! Chances are, you will be spending the day with friends and/or family. Here are a few classic, must-know-recipes of delicious cocktails for your Christmas celebrations!

Classic Eggnog

The perfect blend of beaten egg yolks, sugar, cream,  , Rum, and Cognac. Refrigerate up to a day. Pour the egg-yolk mixture over fluffy egg whites and stir until blended. Serve immediately, while the whites are fluffiest. Add nutmeg to finish it off.



Citrus-Irish Whisky Punch        

Combine  , tea, clementine juice, lemon juice, Oleo-Saccharum, Angostura bitters, and 1½ tsp. nutmeg in a large bowl or pitcher; cover and chill 3–8 hours. Strain into a punch bowl and add several lemon and orange wheels and 4 cups ice. Serve punch in cups over ice garnished with nutmeg.



Classic Martini

Pour a little dry Vermouth in a chilled Martini glass and swirl to coat the inside of the glass. Dispose of excess Vermouth. Gently swirl or stir the   before straining into glass. Garnish with olives, lemon twist or cocktail onion and add rocks if you like.



Cranberry Cocktail

Pour cranberry juice and Gin over ice in a tall glass. Top off with tonic water, and then add a splash of lime juice. Garnish with a wedge of lime and a few fresh cranberries.



Christmas Punch

Mix pomegranate juice, cranberry juice, Vodka, Cointreau, club soda, lemon juice, and simple sugar syrup in a punch bowl. Fill glasses with cranberries frozen in ice cubes, and serve. Garnish with lemon slices if desired.



Kir Royales

Pour Creme de Cassis into a champagne flute. Gently pour into 5 to 9 parts dry Champagne (depending on taste), being careful not to let it foam up too much.



Pina Colada

Fill blender halfway with ice cubes. Add Rum, coconut cream, coconut milk and pineapple chunks. Puree and serve garnished with a slice of pineapple and maraschino cherry, if desired.



Blood Orange Champagne Cocktails

Add 1 1/2 teaspoons each of Crème de Cassis into 8 Champagne flutes or other glasses. Add three tablespoons orange juice to each glass. Fill each glass with Champagne, stir gently. Garnish cocktails with slices of blood orange, if desired.

When liquor meets chocolate

Some of the finer things in life belong together; liquor and chocolate is one such match made in heaven which is always an exciting combination to look forward to. Though, it’s no secret what magic is created when liquor meets chocolate, this absolutely amazing combination requires a special mention. Here we have a list of our favourite recipes for liquor chocolate that are easy to make and use very few ingredients.

  • Whiskey Bar



  • 500 grams cooking chocolate
  • 200 grams cream
  • 4-5 tablespoons Jack Daniel’s Whiskey (or any Single Malt)
  • 250 grams dark chocolate for coating


  • Melt cream in a pan on low flame till tiny bubbles start to form. Then take the cream off the heat and pour in the liquor. Don’t stir the mix too much.
  • Break the chocolate into small pieces and mix with the cream-liquor mixture. Cool this for around an hour.
  • Once cooled, make small bars of the creamy chocolate mixture and put them in the fridge for an hour.
  • Dip the frozen bars in dark chocolate and garnish with sprinkles.

  • Rum ‘n’ Raisin Balls



  • 500 grams dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3-4 tablespoons dark Rum
  • 50 gram raisins
  • 250 grams cream


  • Soak raisins in Rum overnight.
  • Take cream and heat on low flame (don’t boil).
  • Now pour the cream on chopped chocolate and stir till cream and chocolate blend well and form a creamy texture. The proportion of cream and chocolate should be 1:2 so that balls can be formed easily from the mixture.
  • Add the Rum and raisins into the cream and chocolate mix and combine them well
  • Chill the final mixture in the refrigerator for about half an hour. Once the mixture is set, roll it into tiny balls and take it out of the fridge.

  • Vodka Surprise



  • 100 grams raw Chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon Vodka
  • Liquor chocolate moulds


  • Line the chocolate moulds with tempered chocolate, tap and keep in the fridge for about two hours to set.
  • When set, demould the hollow chocolates and keep aside. Then mix two tablespoons of chocolate and one tablespoon of Vodka and make a paste.
  • Set this mixture and fill the chocolate moulds with the Vodka infused chocolate paste.
  • Store the chocolates in a cool place for an hour, before serving.

The name of the drink, Wassail, is derived from the old British tradition of ‘Wassailing’, which basically involves going from house to house, singing carols, wishing people good health and sharing a hot cuppa of the spiced ale cider. The drink is a part of the British Christmas custom of passing good health and happiness among family and friends.

Here’s how you can make this traditional British Christmas drink.


4 cups Apple Cider or Natural Apple Juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
½ inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
2 lemons (juice extract)
1.5 fluid ounce Bourbon per person
Sugar as per requirement


1. Combine all the non alcoholic ingredients in a saucepan and simmer it for 30 minutes.
2. Measure out Bourbon into individual glasses and pour in the hot spiced cider.

Glogg is a popular warm Christmas drink in Scandinavia. The drink is available as an alcoholic red wine version and also as a non-alcoholic version made of grape juice. Glogg is spiced with cloves, cinnamon and orange and is served hot to beat the winter chill. The drink can be accompanied with a sprinkling of raisins and almonds.

1 1/4 litres Red Wine
¼ litre Brandy
½ tablespoon cardamom
¼ orange peel
½ cinnamon stick
½ cup sugar
½ tablespoon cloves
¼ cup almonds
¼ cup raisins
2 dried figs(optional)


1. Heat the Wine, Brandy, nuts, orange peel and spices in a saucepan for 45 minutes. (Do not bring to a
boil, only simmer)
2. Pour all the contents into a strainer to remain with just the liquid.
3. Distribute sugar in glasses and pour the hot Glogg over it.

Bombardino (Italy)

One of Italy’s favourite Christmas drinks is the Bombardino, a drink that is made with Brandy and advocaat, a traditional Dutch alcoholic beverage made from eggs, sugar and brandy. The drink is very easy to make; all you need to do is mix the Brandy and advocaat together and heat it to a boiling point. If you prefer a good amount of sweetness to the drink, then you can reduce the amount of Brandy and top the drink off with whipped cream.

1 cup Brandy
1 cup advocaat

1. Pour the Brandy and advocaat into a saucepan and keep it at medium heat. Remove the pan from the
heat as soon as it reaches a boiling point.

The name of this drink means ‘monkey’s tail’ in Chilean. This Christmas drink from Chile is cold and creamy and is made up of Chilean aguardiente, milk, vanilla bean, coffee, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. The aguardiente can also be replaced with alternatives like Rum and Brandy if you like.

2 cups milk
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup instant coffee
½ cup aguardiente
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Bring milk, sugar and spices to a boil in a saucepan. Once the milk is heated, add coffee and stir.
2. Put the mixture in the fridge to cool.

3. Combine all the mixes together and heat in the microwave/stove for about 2-3 minutes. It is ready to
